How to save Snapchat Spotlight videos, stories and highlights
Last updated 9 October 2026
PocketClip saves three kinds of public Snapchat content:
- Spotlight videos, from Snapchat’s feed of short public videos.
- Public stories: the videos and photos a public profile has posted to its story in the last 24 hours.
- Highlights: stories a creator has saved to their public profile, videos and photos alike.
Private stories, snaps sent to you and chats are never accessible.
1. Copy the link
- A Spotlight video: tap the share button on the video, then Copy Link. Snapchat’s share links look like
https://snapchat.com/t/…and work as they are, as do full links likehttps://www.snapchat.com/spotlight/…. - A public story: copy the creator’s profile link, such as
https://www.snapchat.com/@nameorhttps://www.snapchat.com/add/name. PocketClip lists the videos and photos in their current story. - A highlight: open the highlight on the creator’s public profile and copy its link, which contains
/highlight/.
2. Paste it into PocketClip
Open the Snapchat downloader, paste the link and tap Download. The home page recognizes Snapchat links too.
3. Save the videos and photos
A Spotlight link gives you one video: tap Download.
A story or highlight lists each snap, video or photo, with its position in the story; photos are marked. Tap Download on the ones you want, or Download all as ZIP to get them all in one file. To open a ZIP file, tap it in the Files app on iPhone, open it in Files by Google on Android and tap Extract, or double-click it on a computer.
Things to know about stories
- Stories disappear after 24 hours. If a profile shows nothing to save, the creator hasn’t posted a public story recently. Highlights stay until the creator removes them.
- Photo snaps are saved as JPEG files, in the size Snapchat stores them.
- Captions and stickers may be missing. Snapchat stores some of them separately from the video, so they aren’t always part of the file.
Saving to your phone
Downloads go to your Downloads folder: in the Files app on iPhone, or in Files by Google and your Gallery on Android. On iPhone, open the file in Files, tap Share, then Save Video, or Save Image for a photo, to add it to Photos. The TikTok guide has the steps for each device.
If it doesn’t work
- Private profiles and friends-only stories aren’t accessible.
- A profile with no public story right now has nothing to save until the creator posts again.
- Deleted Spotlight videos come back as not found.
The guide to why a video won’t download explains every message.
Before you save
Only save videos you made yourself or have the creator’s permission to use, and ask before sharing someone else’s story.
