About Space MP3s

Tuned for speech
A Space is people talking, with the same sound in both ears, so the MP3 is 96 kbps mono. Voices stay clear, and an hour comes to about 45 MB.
Plays anywhere
MP3 works on every phone, computer and car stereo, and it is the format podcast hosts, transcription services and audio editors most often ask for.
Converted on the way
There's no waiting for a file to be prepared: the MP3 is made from X's recording while it downloads, about a minute for each hour of the Space.
Pinned posts included
Posts pinned to the Space while it was live are listed under the download, with when and by whom they were pinned.

Questions

Why MP3 rather than M4A?

M4A is X's recording exactly as it is, and starts at once. MP3 plays on more devices and in more apps. For speech, the two sound the same.

Can I convert a Space that is still live?

Not while it is live. Paste its link and keep this page open: we check every few minutes, and the MP3 appears once the Space ends, if the host recorded it.

How long can the Space be?

As long as it ran. Spaces of ten hours and more come through as one MP3.

Can I trim it or cut out a part?

PocketClip saves the whole recording. Any audio editor can trim the MP3 afterwards, without converting it again.

Can I share the MP3 of someone else's Space?

Only if the speakers agree. A recording you are allowed to listen to is not one you are allowed to republish.
