If a file opens in a new tab instead of downloading, save it from your browser's menu. On a computer, right-click the video and choose Save video as.

Step 1
In Snapchat, open the Spotlight video or public profile, tap Share, then Copy link.
Step 2
Paste it into the box above. Spotlight, profile and highlight links all work.
Step 3
Save one video, or a whole story at once as a ZIP file.
If the video opens in a new tab instead, tap the Share button there and choose Save to Files.
If the video opens instead, tap ⋮ in Chrome, then Download.
If the video opens in a new tab, right-click it and choose Save video as.
Saved a whole carousel as a ZIP file? Tap it in Files on iPhone, or open it in Files by Google on Android, to unzip the videos. On a computer, double-click it.
Spotlight videos, and the videos in the public stories and highlights of public profiles. Private stories, snaps sent to you and chats are never accessible.
Public stories disappear after 24 hours, so if the creator hasn't posted recently there is nothing to save. Highlights stay until the creator removes them.
Photo snaps can’t be downloaded yet, so only the videos in a story are listed. They keep their position numbers, so you can tell where the photos were.
Snapchat stores some captions and stickers separately from the video itself, so they may not be part of the file you download.

No. Only public posts that anyone can watch without logging in. We never ask for your login and can't see private content.
Only download videos you made yourself or have the creator's permission to save, and respect copyright when you use them. Saving a video doesn't give you the right to repost it.
