Video to MP3 converter

Turn a video on your phone or computer into an MP3. It converts in your browser, so your file never leaves your device.

Your file is converted on this device and never uploaded.

MP3 encoding by LAME, in your browser with Mediabunny.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Choose a video

Tap Choose a video and pick one from your phone or computer, or drop it on the box.

  2. Step 2

    Wait a moment

The sound is converted on your device. A short clip takes seconds, a long video a minute or two.

  3. Step 3

    Save the MP3

Tap Download MP3 to save it.

What happens to your file

Read on your device
The video is read a piece at a time straight from your phone or computer, so long and large files work without being uploaded or loaded into memory all at once.
Decoded by your browser
The sound is decoded by your browser's own media decoders, the ones that play videos, so the formats that work depend on your browser. The latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari handle the common ones.
Encoded with LAME
The MP3 is made with LAME, the widely used open-source MP3 encoder, at the quality you choose. Stereo stays stereo, and the sample rate is kept.
Only the sound is kept
The video track is left out, so the MP3 is far smaller than the video: about 1 MB per minute at the Standard quality.

Questions

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser, on your device, so the video never leaves it. There is no upload to wait for, either.

Which files work?

Most videos from phones, cameras and the web, such as MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV, and audio files such as M4A and WAV. If your browser can play a file, it can usually convert it.

Which quality should I choose?

Standard (128 kbps) suits speech and most music and keeps files small. Choose High or Best for music you care about: the files are bigger, though the MP3 can't sound better than the video itself.

Can I convert a TikTok, Reel or X video?

Yes: save it with our downloaders first, then convert it here. For TikTok and Instagram Reels, our MP3 pages save the sound directly.

Is there a file size limit?

There's no upload, so there's no upload limit. Large files work because they're read in pieces; very long videos just take longer, especially on older phones.
