About PocketClip
Last updated 19 October 2026
PocketClip is a free tool for saving videos from public posts on TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter) and Snapchat. Paste a post's link, pick a quality, and the file downloads to your phone or computer. There's no app to install and no account to create.
How it works
When you paste a link, PocketClip asks the platform for that post's video files, the same way your browser does when you watch it, and shows you the versions available. You download straight from the platform, or, for some platforms, through our server, which passes the file on as it arrives.
We don't keep copies of videos. Post details are cached for a few minutes so repeat requests are fast, and the download links we create stop working within 15 minutes. Our privacy policy lists everything we handle and for how long.
What we will and won't do
- Public posts only. We only access posts anyone can see without logging in. We never ask for your login, and private accounts, stories shared with friends and messages are off limits.
- No tricks. We show ads to pay for the service. They're always labelled as ads and kept apart from the download buttons, with no pop-up ads, fake download buttons, redirects or notification prompts.
- Respect for creators. Save videos you made or have permission to use. When a rights holder asks us to stop processing a post, we block it; see copyright and takedowns.
Keeping it working
Platforms change how they work from time to time, which can break downloads. We test every platform with real public posts every 10 minutes and are alerted when something stops working, so fixes start quickly.
Not affiliated
PocketClip is independent. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter) or Snapchat, and their names are used only to say which links it accepts.
