About TikTok slideshows

Up to 35 photos
A TikTok slideshow can hold up to 35 photos. All of them are listed; Download all as ZIP saves the first 20 in one file, and the rest can be saved one at a time.
In the order they play
Photos are numbered in slideshow order, and saved files are named “… (slide 4)”, so they line up correctly in your gallery.
Better than screenshots
Each photo is the original image file, without the app's buttons, caption or progress bar on top, and sharper than a screenshot of your screen.
When it was posted
TikTok builds the upload time into the slideshow's link. The post date finder reads it and shows the date and time in your time zone.

Saving photos to your phone or computer

iPhone and iPad

  1. Tap Download. The photo opens in a new tab.
  2. Press and hold the photo.
  3. Tap Save to Photos.

For a ZIP file, tap it in the Files app to unzip it, select the photos, then tap Share and Save Images.

Android

  1. Tap Download. The photo opens in a new tab.
  2. Press and hold the photo, then tap Download image.
  3. Find it in Gallery or Google Photos, under Downloads.

If the photo downloads straight away instead, it is already in your Downloads folder.

Computer

  1. Click Download. The photo opens in a new tab.
  2. Right-click it and choose Save image as.

To save every photo in a post at once, use Download all as ZIP.

Saved a whole post as a ZIP file? Tap it in Files on iPhone, or open it in Files by Google on Android and tap Extract, to unzip the photos. On a computer, double-click it.

Questions

What size are the photos?

The size they were posted in, usually 1080 pixels wide or more, as JPEG files without a watermark. They aren't screenshots or frames from a video.

Can I save a slideshow as a video?

No. TikTok plays a slideshow as photos over music, not as a video file, so there's no video to download. You get the photos and, separately, the music.

Why is there no music option?

Some slideshows have no sound, and TikTok doesn't always provide a slideshow's sound as a separate file. When it doesn't, only the photos are listed.

How do I save all the photos at once?

Tap Download all as ZIP. You get one file with every photo, numbered in slideshow order. Unzip it to get the photos.

Do I need a TikTok account?

No. Paste the slideshow's link and its photos appear, with nothing to log in to. Slideshows from private accounts can't be opened, though.

Is it OK to save someone else's photos?

Only save photos you posted yourself or have the creator's permission to use. Saving a photo doesn't give you the right to repost it.
